Chapel

Chapel (1995–1996) was a seven-issue Image Comics series that thrust the title character—a supernatural vigilante—into a gritty, modern-day world of crime and dark conspiracies. Written primarily by Brian Witten and Eric Stephenson, with art by Calvin Irving, K. J., and Richard Horie, the book followed Bruce Stinson’s violent transformation into Chapel, a character originally introduced in Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood. A mid-90s product of the Image boom, it stands as a moody, action-driven spin-off that explored the cost of power and the blurred line between justice and vengeance.
