A short-lived but ambitious three-issue series from Uitgeverij L, Cixi van Troy (2010–2012) reimagines the epic Trojan War through the lens of Chinese history, blending classical myth with the figure of Empress Dowager Cixi. The story follows its titular heroine as she navigates political intrigue and battlefield strategy in a world where the fall of Troy echoes the decline of the Qing dynasty. While the series' limited run left its full vision unrealized, its bold cross-cultural premise and striking artwork made it a distinctive footnote in European comics.
