In the early 2000s, the Spanish publisher La Mascara (via its Privilège imprint) released this four-issue series, a moody, noir-inflected crime comic brought to life by the distinctive brushwork of artist Jordi Bernet. Set in a shadowy underworld, Claire de Nuit follows its enigmatic title character through a terse, atmospheric story of violence and intrigue. Though brief, the series stands out as a showcase for Bernet's masterful storytelling and a strong example of European adult-oriented comics from the era.
