Classics Illustrated

A revival of the long-running Classics Illustrated line, this 1996–present series (published under the I Classici banner) adapted literary works into comic form, with only three issues released. The series drew on the talents of classic artists like Henry Kiefer, Louis Zansky, and Robert Hayward Webb, alongside writers Al Kanter and the original authors Herman Melville and Mary Shelley. It matters as a late-era attempt to continue the tradition of making classic literature accessible through sequential art.
