Classics Illustrated Special Issue

From 1957 to 1970, Thorpe & Porter's Classics Illustrated Special Issue presented eight standalone comic adaptations of classic literature, each a self-contained gem. Most frequently illustrated by Gerald McCann and Norman Nodel, these issues offered young readers a visually engaging entry point to enduring stories.
