Collana Metal

A bold, short-lived anthology series from Italian publisher Edizioni Nuova Frontiera, Collana Metal (1981–1984) brought a distinctly European sensibility to science fiction and fantasy comics across its 16 issues. The series is best remembered for its striking, often surreal cover art and its willingness to showcase experimental storytelling, bridging the gap between traditional adventure strips and the emerging graphic novel movement in Italy. Though its run was brief, Collana Metal remains a cult touchstone for its atmospheric, visually driven tales and its role in pushing the boundaries of the medium during the early 1980s.
