Cool & Ätzend

From 1990 to 1991, Bastei Verlag published Cool & Ätzend, an eight-issue comic series that collected German translations of classic Spanish humor strips. The series is most strongly associated with the legendary Francisco Ibáñez, whose work appears most frequently as both writer and artist, alongside contributions from fellow Spanish cartoonists Manuel Vázquez and Martz-Schmidt. It stands as a notable, if brief, effort to bring the energetic, gag-driven style of Spanish tebeo comics to a German audience during the early '90s.
