Coplan in beeld

In the early 1970s, the Dutch publisher Heisterkamp released Coplan in beeld, a short-lived comic series adapting the globe-trotting espionage adventures of the French secret agent Coplan. Written by Paul Kenny and illustrated by the detailed, dynamic art of José de Huéscar, the series ran for only four issues under the Ivanov-Castrum imprint. While brief, it stands as a notable European example of the period's spy-thriller comic boom, bringing a popular literary hero to the paneled page.
