About the series
In the early 2000s, Kult Editionen revived Hugo Pratt’s legendary globetrotting adventurer for a nine-issue run of Corto Maltese, collecting and presenting Pratt’s original stories with new material by writers Gianfranco de Turris and Resel Rebiersch. This German-language edition brought Pratt’s lush, ink-washed artwork and his romantic, historically rich tales of the enigmatic sailor to a new generation, preserving the series’ reputation as a cornerstone of literary comics.
