In 1989, First Comics brought Michael Moorcock’s Eternal Champion cycle to comics with Corum: The Bull and the Spear, a four-issue miniseries adapted by Mark Shainblum and vividly illustrated by Jill Thompson. It follows the tragic, one-handed prince Corum as he wields a magical spear against the oppressive Mabden gods, a tale steeped in Celtic myth and Moorcock’s signature cosmic conflict.
