In the early 1980s, Italian publisher Edifumetto launched Crimen, a 22-issue series of painted comics that plunged into the gritty, noir-tinged world of crime and suspense. Most frequently illustrated by Roberto Molino, whose lush, cinematic painted artwork gave each story a distinctive, shadowy atmosphere, the series stands as a notable example of Italy's vibrant fumetti neri tradition. Though short-lived, Crimen remains a cult-favorite artifact of its era, showcasing the raw, adult-oriented storytelling that defined Edifumetto's bold output.
