About the series
Brian Augustyn and Humberto Ramos brought a splash of vibrant, off-kilter energy to DC's late-1990s lineup with Crimson, a four-issue miniseries co-written with Francisco Haghenbeck. The series reimagined the vampire mythos through Ramos's distinctive, cartoony art style, following a young man's dark transformation and his struggle against a shadowy vampire cabal. Though short-lived, Crimson stands out as a cult-favorite example of DC's willingness to experiment with creator-driven horror and supernatural action.
