About the series
From 1972 to 1976, Yugoslav publisher Forum released Crtani romani - Bestseler, a 48-issue series of comic albums that adapted classic adventure novels and popular genre stories into sequential art. The series brought together some of the region’s most accomplished cartoonists, including Andrija Maurović and Julio Radić, whose dynamic artwork gave new visual life to tales of swashbuckling, mystery, and exotic locales. As a key publication of the era, it showcased the vibrant Yugoslav comic scene while making literary bestsellers accessible to a broad audience through the power of comics.
