Writer/artist Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt launched Damned in 2013 for Boom! Studios, a supernatural noir series that follows a man who can see and speak with the dead. The single-issue debut sets a grim, atmospheric tone for a world where the afterlife is a dangerous business—though the series has remained a one-shot, its tight, moody premise offers a complete, self-contained taste of a larger, unexplored mythology.
