About the series
A short-lived but striking Image Comics series from 2012, Danger Club reimagines the classic sidekick archetype by asking what happens when the world's greatest heroes—and their apprentices—are wiped out in a single cataclysmic event. Written by Landry Q. Walker and illustrated by Eric Jones, the story follows the surviving teen sidekicks as they are forced to grow up fast, taking on the mantle of their fallen mentors in a dangerous, post-apocalyptic landscape. Though only two issues were released, the series earned attention for its dark, mature take on superhero mythology and its sharp, kinetic art. It remains a cult curiosity for fans of deconstructive, young-adult-focused cape comics.
