Set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, this 2015–2016 Marvel series follows Darth Vader’s machinations in the wake of the Death Star’s destruction. Written primarily by Kieron Gillen with art by Salvador Larroca, it expands the Dark Lord’s corner of the galaxy, introducing the rogue archaeologist Doctor Aphra and her lethal droids, BT-1 and Triple Zero. The series deepens Vader’s character while weaving a tense, visually striking saga of ambition, betrayal, and the shadow of the Emperor.
