About the series
Claire Bretécher's De gefrustreerden (1978–1980) is a sharp, four-issue comic series from Dutch publishers Espee and van Gennep, translated from the original French. Best known for Bretécher's incisive writing and distinctive artwork, with Dutch adaptation by Frans van der Wiel, the series dissects the petty neuroses and social hypocrisies of the educated middle class. Its wry, observational humor and unflinching character studies made it a cult touchstone of European satirical comics.
