About the series
In the early 1950s, Comic Media published Death Valley, a short-lived but striking horror anthology that ran for six issues. The series is most closely associated with artist Don Heck, whose moody, atmospheric work defined its grim tales of the macabre. While brief, Death Valley stands as a notable example of the pre-Code horror boom, showcasing the genre's raw, unpolished edge before the industry's self-censorship tightened.
