Delta 99

Published by Ibero Mundial de Ediciones from 1968 to 1971, Delta 99 is a 27-issue Spanish science-fiction comic series that follows the adventures of its titular space hero. The series was a showcase for a generation of talented Spanish artists and writers—including frequent contributors Roger, Josep Toutain, and Jesús Flores Thies on scripts, and A. Usero, Carlos Giménez, and Manel on art—who brought a distinctive, often moody European sensibility to its interstellar tales. A key title in the Spanish comics boom of the late 1960s, Delta 99 stands out for its atmospheric storytelling and the polished, expressive artwork that helped define the era's adventure comics.
