Die Blumen des Bösen

In 2021–2022, Cross Cult released Die Blumen des Bösen, a five-issue comic series that adapts Charles Baudelaire’s iconic poetry collection Les Fleurs du Mal into a graphic narrative. This German-language project reimagines the 19th-century verses through a modern visual lens, focusing on themes of decadence, beauty, and moral transgression. While the original poems remain the source, the series translates their haunting imagery into sequential art, offering a fresh entry point for readers unfamiliar with Baudelaire’s work. It stands as a notable European graphic adaptation of a literary classic, bridging poetry and comics.
