Die Schlümpfe

In the early 1980s, Carlsen Comics brought Peyo’s beloved blue characters to German readers with Die Schlümpfe, a twelve-issue series collecting the classic adventures of the Smurfs. Written primarily by Peyo and Yvan Delporte, and illustrated by Peyo alongside Francis Bertrand, these stories capture the whimsical, village-bound world of Papa Smurf, Brainy, and the rest of the tiny blue community. This series served as a key entry point for German audiences, preserving the charm and gentle humor of the original Franco-Belgian comics during the global Smurf phenomenon.
