About the series
Welsh Publishing Group launched Disney's DuckTales Magazine in 1988, a nine-issue tie-in to the hit animated series. Don Rosa and Jim Fanning handled the bulk of the writing, while Daniel Melgarejo and Darrell C. Baker provided the art, bringing Scrooge McDuck and his nephews to life on the printed page. This magazine stands as a key early example of a licensed comic directly adapting the look and feel of a contemporary cartoon, bridging the gap between the TV screen and the spinner rack.
