About the series
Arédit-Artima’s Docteur Strange (1981–1983) collected seven issues of the Sorcerer Supreme’s mystic adventures for a French audience, reprinting stories from the classic Lee/Ditko era through later runs by Larry Lieber, Ralph Macchio, and artists Tom Sutton, Ricardo Villamonte, and Rudy Nebres. This series helped introduce European readers to Strange’s otherworldly battles and psychedelic visuals during a period when Marvel’s supernatural corner was finding its footing. A key bridge for Francophone fans, it showcased the character’s evolution from his 1960s origins to the darker, more cosmic tales of the 1970s and early 1980s.
