Double Duo

From 1976 to 1977, Williams Publishing released Double Duo, a 12-issue painted comic series that paired two distinct hero teams in each installment. Writers Stephen Crane, Flavius Josefus, and James Cook crafted the adventures, with every issue featuring full painted artwork by an uncredited trio of artists. A short-lived experiment in anthology-style team-ups, the series stands out for its consistent use of painted interiors at a time when most comics relied on traditional line art.
