About the series
Set in a reimagined, apocalyptic America where the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ride not for the end of days but for their own agendas, East of West is a sprawling, genre-bending epic from Image Comics. Written by Jonathan Hickman and brought to visceral life by artist Nick Dragotta, the series ran for 45 issues from 2013 to 2019, weaving a dark, sci-fi Western about a fractured nation, a hunted child, and a Death who has broken his covenant. Its ambitious world-building and striking, cinematic visuals made it a defining Image series of the 2010s, beloved for its unflinching tone and intricate, slow-burn narrative.
