Espace

A short-lived but visually striking French science-fiction series from the mid-1970s, Espace was published by Société Française de Presse Illustrée (SFPI) across a concise run of 12 issues. The series is best remembered for its ambitious, often surreal cosmic adventures and the distinctive, moody artwork of its primary artist, Jean-Claude Mézières, whose work here helped define the look of European space opera. Though it did not achieve the lasting fame of Mézières' later Valérian series, Espace remains a fascinating artifact of its era, showcasing the bold, experimental storytelling that characterized French comics of the period.
