About the series
In the early '90s, Malibu Comics launched Ex-Mutants, a 18-issue series that put a fresh spin on the post-apocalyptic mutant genre. Written primarily by Hank Kanalz, Charles Marshall, and Tom Mason, with art by Paul Pelletier, Patrick Rolo, and Thomas Derenick, the series followed a band of superpowered survivors navigating a world ravaged by a catastrophic event. Its gritty, action-driven storytelling and distinctive character designs made it a memorable entry in Malibu's superhero line, offering a darker alternative to the mainstream mutant titles of the era.
