Extinctioners

From 1999 to 2005, Shanda Fantasy Arts published Extinctioners, a 15-issue series that blended superhero action with anthropomorphic animal characters. Created by a team led by writer/artist Shandalare, the comic explored themes of prejudice and survival as a team of genetically engineered beings—each inspired by endangered species—fought for their place in a hostile world. Its bold, independent vision and commitment to diverse representation made it a distinctive voice in the small-press comics landscape of the early 2000s.
