Fantaorror

In the late 1970s, Italian publisher Edifumetto launched Fantaorror, a 15-issue series that blended science fiction and horror through fully painted covers and interiors by artist Carlo Jacono. Each issue delivered a standalone, macabre fantasy tale, showcasing Jacono’s lush, atmospheric style that gave the series a distinct, cinematic feel. Though brief, Fantaorror stands as a striking example of Italian adult-oriented comics from the era, where painted art and genre experimentation were pushed to vivid extremes.
