Fantax

Published by Éditions Pierre Mouchot from 1946 to 1949, Fantax ran for 39 issues and stands as a foundational French postwar comic. The series was most frequently written by Chott and Marcel Navarro (under the pen name J. K. Melwyn-Nash), with artwork led by Pierre Mouchot (also as Chott) and Robert Rocca (as Bob Roc). It matters as a key example of the early French comic-book format, blending adventure and masked-hero tropes in the years following World War II.
