Fighting Fleet Comics

Virgil Reilly was the driving force behind this short-lived but punchy Magazine Mana­gement series, writing and drawing all 14 issues across its 1951–1954 run. Fighting Fleet Comics delivered no-frills naval action, following the crews of submarines, destroyers, and aircraft carriers through World War II–inspired combat. While it never reached the heights of the publisher’s more famous titles, the series stands as a compact, self-contained showcase of Reilly’s muscular, kinetic storytelling—a tidy snapshot of the kind of wartime adventure that filled spinner racks in the early 1950s.
