Flèche Noire

Though published in France by Arédit-Artima, Flèche Noire (1968–1971) was a Belgian-style adventure comic built around the exploits of its masked, arrow-wielding hero. Spanning 34 issues, the series was most consistently illustrated by Jacques Van Butsele, whose clean, dynamic linework defined the book's look across its four-year run. A short-lived but fondly remembered entry in the European costumed-hero landscape, it stands as a curious, homegrown counterpart to the American vigilante archetype.
