About the series
In the early 2000s, French publisher Delcourt released Flic à Tokyo, an eight-issue series that transplants a Parisian detective to the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. Blending a hardboiled European crime sensibility with Japanese cultural details, the series offers a fish-out-of-water thriller as the protagonist navigates unfamiliar laws, language, and underworld codes. Its creator, writer and artist Thierry Robin, brings a distinctive ligne claire style to the gritty narrative, making the series a memorable Franco-Belgian take on the international police procedural.
