From 1992 to 2000, the German publisher Salleck assembled a short but fondly curated series reviving classic Franco-Belgian adventure comics for a new audience. Spanning just four issues, Franco-Belgische Comicklassiker spotlighted the work of such revered European talents as Albert Weinberg, Paul Cuvelier, and Édouard Aidans, with Weinberg and Eckart Schott contributing as writers alongside Marcel Le Comte. The series served as a vital bridge for German readers, preserving and reintroducing the clean ligne claire artistry and sweeping narratives that defined a golden era of European comics.
