Henk Kuijpers’ Franka ran for eight issues from 1976 to 1986 under the Oberon imprint, following the globe-trotting adventures of its sharp-witted, red-haired heroine. Kuijpers wrote and illustrated every installment, crafting a stylish, lighthearted detective series that balanced European comic elegance with playful intrigue. Alongside Franka, her loyal dog Bars, the bumbling Commissaris Noordenwind, and a rogues’ gallery including Jarko Jansen, Argos Attak, and Furora, the series became a beloved touchstone of Dutch comics.
