FreakAngels

In the flooded ruins of a post-apocalyptic London, a group of nine psychic teenagers—the FreakAngels—struggle to protect the fragile community that has formed around them. This six-issue series, published by Panini Deutschland from 2010 to 2013, was co-created by writer Warren Ellis and artist Paul Duffield, whose detailed, atmospheric artwork brings the drowned city to life. The story explores the tensions between the teens' extraordinary powers and their all-too-human flaws, as well as the moral compromises required to build a new society from the ashes of the old. It stands out for its intimate, character-driven take on the post-apocalyptic genre, offering a thoughtful and gritty alternative to more action-oriented survival tales.
