About the series
From 1980 to 2008, Primo Carnera Editore’s Frigidaire brought a raw, transgressive energy to Italian comics across 212 issues. The series is most closely associated with the visceral, punk-infused work of Andrea Pazienza, whose runs as both writer and artist defined its anarchic spirit, alongside the gritty collaborations of Carlos Sampayo and José Muñoz. It launched the iconic, cyberpunk anti-hero RanXerox and the surreal space adventures of Joe Galaxy, blending high-art satire with underground provocation. Frigidaire remains a landmark for its boundary-pushing influence on European alternative comics.
