Gøngehøvdingen

In the late 1980s, Danish publisher Interpresse revived the classic historical adventure Gøngehøvdingen for a two-issue comic series, illustrated by Orla Klausen. This short but vivid run brings the 17th-century exploits of the legendary Swedish-Danish guerrilla leader Svend Poulsen to the page, capturing the swashbuckling spirit of Carit Etlar’s original novels. Klausen’s energetic artwork and the series’ compact scope make it a notable, if brief, entry in Danish comic history.
