About the series
Gai-Luron, a gleefully absurd French comic series published by Audie from 1975 to 1986, stars a dim-witted, perpetually cheerful dog whose slapstick adventures deconstruct the very idea of a comic strip. Created and almost entirely drawn by the legendary Gotlib, the series is a masterclass in surreal, meta-humor, often breaking the fourth wall and mocking its own medium. Over its 11-issue run, Gai-Luron became a cult classic for its anarchic spirit and its place in the golden age of French satirical comics.
