Galaxia Extra

From 1968 to 1969, Ediciones Vértice published Galaxia Extra, an eight-issue Spanish comic series that served as a companion to the longer-running Galaxia. This short-lived title collected international science fiction and adventure stories, primarily reprinting material from British and American sources. While the series is notable for its eclectic mix of space opera and fantasy tales, it is best remembered for introducing Spanish readers to the dynamic artwork of Esteban Maroto, whose distinctive style would define the era. Though brief, Galaxia Extra captures a moment when Spanish publishers were hungry for genre content, bridging European and Anglo-American comic traditions.
