Gang Busters

Based on the hit radio program, Gang Busters was a short-lived Simcoe Publishing & Distribution title that ran for four issues starting in 1949. Writer and artist Stookie Allen helmed the entire series, adapting the true-crime radio format into comic book stories. It stands as a minor but earnest artifact of the post-war crime comics boom, directly translating a popular broadcast medium for newsstand readers.
