About the series
Fawcett Publications' Gene Autry Comics (1941–1943) brought the singing cowboy's wholesome Western adventures to the four-color page across a ten-issue run. Scripted primarily by Gerald Geraghty and Gordon Fawcett, the series was consistently illustrated by Till Goodan, with Jim Chambers also contributing art. While rooted in the movie-star comic trend of the era, the book stands as a clean, earnest example of Golden Age Western storytelling, capturing Autry's clean-cut heroics before wartime paper shortages ended its brief run.
