About the series
In the mid-2000s, Egmont Ehapa published Gestalt, a compact eight-issue series that blends psychological thriller with supernatural horror. The story follows a young woman who, after surviving a traumatic event, discovers she can see and communicate with the dead—a gift that draws her into a dark, conspiracy-laden investigation spanning past and present. Writer and artist Christian Heiß crafted the series, which stands out for its moody, expressive black-and-white artwork and its tightly wound, character-driven narrative. Gestalt remains a notable example of German comics from the era, offering a mature, atmospheric take on the ghost story genre.
