Ghost Stories of an Antiquary

In 2016–2017, SelfMadeHero brought M. R. James’s classic Edwardian ghost stories into comics, with John Reppion and Leah Moore adapting the author’s unsettling tales. Artists Alisdair Wood and George Kambadais rendered the eerie, scholarly dread that made James a master of the weird, giving the short series a quietly atmospheric, modern visual voice. Though only two issues long, it stands as a faithful, lovingly crafted tribute to a foundational figure in supernatural fiction.
