Goldrake

In 1967, Les editions de poche launched Goldrake, a six-issue French comic series that adapted the original Japanese manga into a localized adventure for European readers. While the series shares its name with the later, more famous anime robot, this short-run publication stands as an early, distinct Franco-Belgian interpretation of Go Nagai's source material. It remains a curious artifact of cross-cultural translation in mid-60s European comics, offering a glimpse into how Japanese storytelling was reshaped for a different audience before the mecha boom.
