About the series
In the early 1990s, Italian publisher Ediperiodici unleashed Gore Scanners, a nine-issue horror anthology that leaned hard into visceral, splatter-filled storytelling. Writers Massimo Vincenti, Tomaso De Riso, and Carmelo Gozzo, alongside artists Dino Simeoni, Luigi Coppola, and Mauro Salvatori, crafted a series that epitomized the publisher’s reputation for boundary-pushing, often grotesque comics. Though short-lived, it remains a cult touchstone for fans of unapologetically extreme European horror.
