A pioneering underground comic strip that first appeared in the pages of the East Village Other from 1969 onward, Gothic Blimp Works was a showcase for the raw, countercultural energy of the late-1960s comix scene. Running for eight issues, the series featured the distinctive talents of Jay Lynch, Berni Wrightson, Bhob Stewart, Kim Deitch, and Larry Hama, blending surreal humor, social satire, and proto-punk aesthetics.
