Graphic Fantasy

From 1982, Ajax Comics published just three issues of Graphic Fantasy, a short-lived anthology series that paired writer/artist Erik Larsen with a rotating team including Kevin Clark Keyes, Jon Day, and Ken Cruson. The series introduced a cast of recurring characters—the Dragon family (Paul, Angel, and the mysterious Dragon himself), alongside Ben Palmer, Chris Robinson, and Bill August—in what served as an early showcase for Larsen’s energetic, offbeat storytelling. Though its run was brief, Graphic Fantasy remains a notable footnote for fans tracing the pre-Savage Dragon roots of one of comics’ most distinctive creator-owned voices.
