About the series
In the early 2010s, Phoenix Press launched Greystorm, a 12-issue series that reimagines classic pulp adventure through a modern, dark fantasy lens. The story follows the titular hero, a mysterious figure from a lost world, as he battles ancient evils and shadowy conspiracies in a world that has forgotten its primal past. Most closely associated with writer and artist Gary Chaloner, the series is notable for its lush, atmospheric artwork and its ambitious attempt to revive the spirit of 1930s serials with a contemporary, mature edge. For fans of retro-futurism and supernatural action, Greystorm stands as a compact, self-contained epic that bridges the gap between old-fashioned heroism and modern storytelling.
