Grips

From 1989 to 1992, Greater Mercury Comics published Grips, a 12-issue series that brought a gritty, street-level sensibility to its superhero and crime narratives. The creative team—led by writers Doug Miers, Kris Silver, and David Law, with art from Pete Ayala, Juan Muro, and Richard Carter—crafted a tense, character-driven world that stood out in the early-'90s independent comics scene.
